Nifty Hovering Near Its All-Time High Small Cap Index Is 40% Down From Its All Time High
Nifty Index has opened at its day high level of 12123 today. Index is hovering near its all time high, with immediate resistance at 12159 and support at 12006.However, the direction of the market will be decided if any of the above levels are breached.
Small Cap Index has been trading differently than that of major Index Nifty. Smallcap Index is 40% away from its all-time high of 9656 and is currently trading at 5800 level, where Nifty is trading at all-time high of 12100 level .The immediate resistance of Small Cap is at 5870 and support is at 5715.
Nifty Open Interest which is a key indicator of the market direction showing Major players FII & PRO have net short position of (-54727) contracts. If these players continue to create short positions from Monday onwards and their net contracts go above (-1,50,000) contracts, then markets may see profit booking. In the current trading week among the major sectors, Bank - Private has taken the lead and risen by 3.72%. Financial Sector was right behind it and rose by 3.03%. As far as minor sectors are concerned Telecom (6.17%) and Carbon sector (4.48%) have excelled.
Top 5 performing companies were Ramkrishna Forgings (20.53%), Somany Ceramics (19.25%), Equitas Holdings (16.61%), ICICI Securities (15.16%), And Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd (11.50%).
